Pocket Money Drugs (BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra)

I produced a series of contributor-led pieces for this BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra documentary, exploring the continued use and sale of balloons amongst young people.

Since a law change made supplying laughing gas for recreational use a criminal offence in the UK, young people have started making huge profits from selling balloons illegally at student parties. I interviewed one of these dealers, and followed them to a house party that saw them rake in hundreds of pounds in profit.

And though several deaths have been linked to laughing gas, users are still legally free to do balloons and they’re as popular as ever - especially among teenagers. I spoke to some of them, too.
